Scents are very much a personal experience and as such, there are many factors that can influence this experience. Here, we cover the most common ones.
Did you purchase the correct product? - There are two White Moss fragrance options; the Eau de Cologne (EDC - White Label) and Eau de Parfum (EDP- Blackl) and while both are meant to have the same scent, some customers may perceive them differently due to their different concentrations.
Personal changes - One of the most beloved attributes of White Moss is its light, neutral and clean scent. However, this characteristic also makes it more susceptible to subtle variations based on individual body chemistry. Factors such as diet, illness, and medications can affect how a scent interacts with each person or how it is perceived by the senses.
New vs Old Bottle - When comparing the scent of a fresh, new bottle to an almost empty one that has been opened for several months or even years, there will always be a difference between the two due to evaporation of alcohol in the older bottle, making the scent slightly stronger. Over time, depending on how the fragrance is stored, essential oils in the fragrance may begin to oxidize, altering the scent. Additionally, a new bottle may have a more noticeable alcohol smell as it is immediately sealed after production and contains the highest alcohol content.
Essential Oils nuances - The essential oils used to scent the fragrance can exhibit slight variations due to factors like weather, climate change or drought during their plant growth and harvesting. These nuances may be perceived by individuals with more sensitive noses or fragrance connoisseurs.
